Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, has been detained in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s custody.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued the order on Monday during the presidential aspirant’s trial by the EFCC on alleged N2.9 billion corruption allegations.
The EFCC had previously charged Okorocha, Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, a former governor’s friend, and five firms with money laundering.

Okorocha was compelled to sit near a dock where his plea on the fraud allegations against him will be taken this morning, dressed in his normal green color Agbada with a brown cap to match.
In the courtroom, Okorocha’s typical grins and waving of the handkerchief to fans were absolutely gone.
In his judgement, Justice Ekwo ordered that Okorocha and Chinenye be held in EFCC custody until their bail petitions are decided.
The presiding judge, on the other hand, postponed the hearing on the accused’s bail petitions until Tuesday.
Last week, the country’s anti-graft agency forcibly entered the Abuja house of the Senator representing Imo-West.
