Referee David Coote has been dropped from this weekend’s Premier League games, after failing to send Giovani Lo Celso off, for a rash tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta.
Lo Celso appeared to stamp on Azpilicueta’s leg in the second half, but was not even booked.
Michael Oliver who was the centre referee for the match missed the incident and VAR waved it aside after a review.
Coote has now not been named to officiate a game, appear as an assistant nor take part in Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties.
Oliver will, however, be in charge when champions-elect Liverpool travel to Watford in Saturday’s late kick-off.
Recently, it was reported that Premier League clubs reportedly want to give attackers extra leeway for offsides to stop the controversial marginal VAR decisions.

There has been frustration from clubs and fans alike over goals ruled out by mere millimetres by the technology.
Since it was introduced this season, 25 goals have been ruled out by VAR offside calls while six more have been awarded after the flag was raised.
According to reports, Premier League clubs have told referee chiefs they want to give attackers a 10cm leeway in marginal decisions.
Mike Riley, the managing director of the Professional Games Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL), is thought to have told club chairmen that 10cm latitude would have meant nine of the 25 goals ruled out would have stood.
The changes would be fairly simple with a thicker line drawn for where the defender is while the attackers’ would remain the same. If the line for the attacker was covered by the thicker line then an offside would not be called.
