Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi, said on Friday that his government had made 2,000 people wealthy in the state.
He addressed at the “Second Annual GYB Seminar for Nigeria’s Political and Crime Correspondents,” which is now taking place in Abuja.
Bello also stated that if he receives his party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 elections and the clearance to pick his running partner, he wants to choose Nigeria’s first female Vice President.

The Governor was replying to a question on his country’s economic prospects, particularly his recent vow to make 20 million Nigerians rich by 2030 if he replaces President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We have made nothing less than 2,000 millionaires in Kogi,” Bello said.
On his choice of VP, he added: “If I am given the free hand to choose, I will not leave the constituency of my mother. I would love to have the first female VP in 2023.”
Last Saturday, Bello formally declared to run for President in 2023, with a promise to build on Buhari’s legacy by adopting the Igbo apprenticeship system to create millionaires.
