Adegboyega Oyetola, the state governor, had urged Ademola Adeleke’s supporters to maintain calm less than 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declared Adeleke the winner of the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election.
In addition, the state governor stated that he was aware of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s announcement of the outcome of Saturday’s governor election (INEC).
The governor, who ran as the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) candidate in the race, stated in a statement that the party would react appropriately to the gubernatorial outcome.

He also acknowledged the necessity for extensive consultation with significant APC stakeholders.
“We have taken cognisance of the results of the governorship election in the State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday.
“The party would be responding appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical stakeholders of the party,” he said.
While calling on the party members and supporters to remain calm, Governor Oyetola urged the residents to go about their businesses without hindrance.
“We cease this opportunity to call on security operatives to ensure maintenance of law and order,” he added.

In the announcement, it was also revealed that the state governor had ordered security personnel to assume adequate control in order to stop any breakdown of law and order in the state.
Remember that Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, the INEC returning officer, proclaimed Adeleke the winner over the incumbent governor, Oyetola, with a vote total of 403,371 to his 375,027.
