Our correspondent also learned that the attack on Gidan train station forced the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, and his entourage, who were on their way back to Abuja from a visit to the scene of the bandit attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train, to stop for a few minutes before continuing on their journey.
Later, security agents were seen taking control of the area.
“We have still to ascertain the level of damage,” Innocent Ajiji, president of the Nigeria Union of Railway Workers, told Newsmen, confirming the incident.
The alarming event, which comes less than 24 hours after a bandit attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train that killed many passengers and injured many more, comes after the bandit attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday.
