On Wednesday, Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, promised to suspend visa restrictions for those who assist in the country’s struggle against Russia.
Zelensky signed an executive order allowing outsiders to help his country resist Russian forces who invaded the country last Thursday.
The edict establishes a “temporary visa-free regime” for those who wish to assist in the war effort.

At the moment, nationals of the European Union and the United States must get visas valid for more than 90 days within six months in order to visit Ukraine.
The Ukraine President noted that the visa-free regime will be effective immediately from 1 March and will be effective as long as the martial law is in force in the country.
The visa-free regime, however, was not extended to citizens of Russia who were described as “citizens of the aggressor state.”
This is coming after some Nigerians offered to assist Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
It was further stated that the young Nigerians stormed the Ukraine Embassy in Abuja, to write down their names in a register provided by the embassy.
