Kanu had requested a review of the Federal High Court’s April 8 decision, which had dismissed only eight of the 15 counts against him while upholding seven others, from the Court of Appeal in Abuja on September 13.
Kanu requested the Court of Appeal to release and acquit him in his appeal, which was dated April 29 and designated CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022. Kanu maintained that the treasonable felony accusations against him were without legal foundation.
Ozekhome, who represented him in the appeal, pleaded with the appellate court to relieve him from DSS solitary custody.
Kanu complained that the charge granted the high court improper global jurisdiction and that it omitted to specify where or when the alleged offenses were allegedly committed.
