Despite the imposition of a dawn-to-dusk curfew in Kano, hundreds of locals have gathered to celebrate the state’s governorship election winner.
Following INEC’s proclamation of the NNPP’s candidate as the winner of the governorship race, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje allegedly enforced a curfew on Monday to avoid a breakdown in law and order.
Muhammad Garba, the commissioner of information and internal affairs, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.

He stated that the decision was made to keep hoodlums from inciting disorder in an already difficult environment.
The commissioner advised residents to stay home because security personnel would not spare anyone or any organization bent on causing disruption.
INEC named Abba Yusuf of the NNPP the winner of Saturday’s Kano governorship election, defeating Deputy Governor Nasir Gawuna.
The outcomes have created tension in Kano, causing the government to take aggressive measures to prevent chaos.
