Just like the previous version, participants are to register, invest a particular amount in the form of “providing help” and “get help” with their investment and interest back after 30 days.
Notorious Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox (MMM), the Ponzi scheme which dashed the hope of over three million Nigerians in 2017, is back.
The new version known as MMM Cooperation promises as much as 50 percent return on any amount invested in it — 20 percent more than what the extinct version offered.
Just like the previous version, participants are to register, invest a particular amount in the form of “providing help” and “get help” with their investment and interest back after 30 days.
And some Nigerians have fallen for it yet again!
The scheme had announced a shut down in April 2018 following the death of Sergei Mavrodi, its founder.
“After much deliberation, we have made the conclusion that continuing the system operation, without our leader and ideological inspirer, is impossible and makes no sense,” a message on the MMM Nigeria website had read.
In a surprising turn of events, however, the scheme announced it had re-launched globally since January “to make Mavrodi’s legacy worthwhile.”
“Like the sunrise in the morning, MMM Cooperation set the pace on the 22nd of January 2019 all over the world.”
“From negligence by many to fear of the unknown by prospective participants at the beginning; we are where we are today being most populous platform all over the world with six million participants all in the space of four months,” a message on its website read.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that one of the coordinators who gave his name as Guider Tee on Twitter, said the new MMM is in over 170 countries.
Commercial drivers in Anambra under the aegis of Allied Anambra Drivers Progressive Association (AADPA) have commended Governor Willie Obiano for the clampdown on fake revenue agents in the state.
They also commended the Commissioner for Transport, Chief Uchenna Okafor (Wiper) for his efforts with the governor in minimizing multiple ticket circulation and touting along the Onitsha/Owerri Road by Upper Iweka axis in Onitsha.
Coordinator of AADPA, Chief Obinna Anisiobi, who made the commendation in a statement at Onitsha, said he and his unit heads were appreciative of the state government’s efforts at ridding the state of fakers and reducing the number of motor tickets and tolls being sold to their members in the state.
Anisiobi noted that AADPA is an association that takes care of drivers operating within Onitsha, Oba, Oraifite, Ozubulu, Okija, Ihiala, Uli and Amorka in Anambra State and Orlu, Mgbidi and Awo-Omamma in Imo State.
He expressed optimism that the governor and his transport commissioner would sustain the tempo of fight against fakers and multiple ticket sales until they are stamped out of existence.
They also expressed optimism that Obiano’s administration would create bus stops within the Upper Iweka and Owerri road axis to enable their members operate freely as against the current trend, where there are no bus stops to stop and pick or drop passengers within the Upper Iweka and Owerri road axis.
Amaize’s show on AIT was notably responsible for NBC’s threat to revoke DAAR Communications license over certain tweets.

A News agency gathered that Amaize, popularly called MrFixNigeria, left Nigeria over threats and concerns he was going to be arrested and framed for treason and incitement by the Muhammadu Buhari regime.
It will be recalled that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had threatened to revoke DAAR Communications license over tweets from Nigerians shown on @kakaakisocial which was anchored by Amaize. The NBC had on June 6 suspended the license of Daar Communications Plc., owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power.

Director-General of NBC, Modibbo Kawu, said the action was taken for failure of the TV and radio stations to abide by the broadcasting code. In a letter entitled, “Lack of Responsibility in use of content from social media,” which was addressed to the Group Managing Director of Daar Communications Group, the NBC described the Kakaaki social edition of May 22, 2019, as “treasonable rhetoric.”
Before his stint at AIT, Amaize was Special Advisor on Media Strategy to Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, while he was the Minister of State for Defence. He also served as Research Assistant to a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu and later a campaign aide spokesperson to the presidential campaign of Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine between 2010-2011.
It has been discovered that the act of murder was not the house-help’s first
Report from a Nigerian man who uncovered the story stated that the house-help is a serial killer who steals from his victims anaedoonline.ng had earlier reported that a 22-year-old male house-help had been accused of killing his female employer and her mother in Surulere area of Lagos state.
It had been reported that the young man had committed the crime during an argument with his employer.
However, a Nigerian man had taken to the popular microblogging platform, Twitter, to reveal what he claims to be the truth behind the crimes.
According to the Twitter user, the house-help identified as Joseph Ogbu is a serial killer, who has been committing the crime of killing his employers for a very long time.
The Twitter user explained that the boy had originally been hired by the 89-year-old woman who lived with her pregnant 38-year-old daughter, and he had killed them in a planned attack.
Below are the series of tweets;
How many of you read this murder story on @instablog9ja ?
You read wrong.
I got the real story. I'm only sharing it because there are things to learn from it. Permission has been taken from source. #thread. pic.twitter.com/a0whYrWaAQ

First of all, anyone copying this to a blog or his/her page should crop or blur out my handle. I don't want the attention. If not, I'll be locking my account.

@tweetMOPOL noted that the family of one of the suspects’ victims, who narrowly escaped his attack, shared his story on WhatsApp warning people not to fall victim to him.
Now let's start. The boy in the picture was hired BY the 89 year old woman as a help in HER house in which she lives with her daughter. she was his boss. They never suspected he was a killer, worst of all, a SERIAL killer/thief.
— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019
It was gathered that the young man would always pose as a maid looking to work for the elderly. After being employed, he kills them, robs them, and sets the house on fire to cover his tracks.
This murder was not his first. Not his second. In fact, the family of one of his victims that narrowly escaped shared a WhatsApp BC to warn ppl, unfortunately the current victim's family only realized after the murder pic.twitter.com/pjuycmMPC8
— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019
The Twitter user further explained how the incident with the 89-year-old woman and her daughter went down. He said the suspect had killed the daughter first where he was seen by the older woman.
He often poses as a help usually for old people. Kills them, robs them, sets the house ablaze to make it seem like a fire incident.

So back to the story on instablog.
That night there was no quarrel. I know a lot of you focused on that because once they insinuate a woman was rude, you tend to forget the bigger picture; in this case, murder.
— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019
He immediately held her down and told her to wire money into his account before taking her own life. He was allegedly caught while trying to escape with the things in the house in the woman’s car.
Fast forward to night, they were alone in the building, he first went for the daughter with a matchet and was cutting her to death, blood everywhere. The old lady saw him but couldn't escape.
— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019
He caught her and demanded she transfers a huge sum of money to him, that he wasn't planning to kill her. She fearfully transferred the money.
He still decided to strangle her to death. pic.twitter.com/rvDd6RnSPf— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019
He then spread clothes around the corridors and everywhere in the house with fuel so he could burn down the house as usual. He then stole electronics and valuables and put in the car, started the fire in the house. And was about to leave with the car.

He was a new help so they were wondering why he was driving off with madam's car that late. He claimed she sent him on an errand to the island.
They refused, saying that they knew her very well. A nice person that won't send anyone on an errand that late.— COC (@TweetMOPOL) June 24, 2019

The Nkpokiti cultural dance group was instituted in 1959 at Umunze, Anambra State, Nigeria, by Chief Festus Okoli (AKA Ojimgba) of the blessed memory (1927-2009).
This unique cultural group has continued to mesmerize their audience with their outlandish and unique dance steps cum stunts. Suffice it to say that they were and are still a joy to watch in and out of season. They rightfully conquered their local adversaries in dance competitions with their incredible stunts, acrobatic and electrifying dance steps, which have remained their trademark.
When the states of the federation converged in Lagos in 1970, at Lagos to celebrate the end of the civil war, the Nkpokiti group, seized the opportunity to take their exploits to another level by clinching the first position and by extension, the 3,000 pounds and a gold gong set aside for the winners of the exhibition. They went on to repeat that feat for an umpteenth time in subsequent editions.
Thereafter, the state government (Anambra) adopted the dance group as the state’s representatives in cultural dance competitions.
Owing to their incessant triumphs in national competitions, the Nigerian government decided to make them the countries ambassadors at world level. In the year 1978, courtesy of The Satin Sheen Company, in the time of Franca Afebua, Nkpokiti competed at Wembley, England, where they successfully beat off competitions from other cultural dance groups of the globe and returned to Nigeria with the ”world cup”.That feat established them as the as the greatest cultural dance group in the universe.

But for Australia, the Nkpokiti cultural dance group has been to all parts of the world. Notably, the back view of the 5 naira note, used in Nigeria is graced by a picture of the Nkpokiti dance group. The group is simply amazing! If you are yet to watch them perform, you are on a long thing!
The South-East Governors’ Forum has reacted to controversies surrounding the alleged proposal by the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) to organize local vigilance groups in the South-East.
MACBAN had said the proposal is to assist leaders in the zone curtail the menace of crimes and criminal activities in the area.
However, the South-East Governors’ Forum denied ever being ready to allow such suggestions come to fruition in the zone

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Chairman of the forum in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Uzor on Monday in Abakaliki, described claims of the governors allowing MACBAN to form vigilantes as strange.
The statement reads: “I find it extremely strange for anybody to think that none locals in any part of the country including South-East can be allowed to form vigilance outfit.”
“The Miyetti Allah group may have made that suggestion which I believe will never mean to form a vigilante in South East whichever is the meaning, no governor will allow that.”
“South-East governors have their local vigilance groups working with security agencies; any such demand by Miyetti group is a joke and not acceptable.”
“Governors of the zone are doing their best and we have no problems receiving insults from our people, it is the price of leadership.”
“The important thing to us is the safety and well-being of our people; the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and other pressure groups may not have found it fashionable to insult their leaders even when their leaders may not be saints,” the statement noted.
Umahi further disclosed that his task was to develop Ebonyi, contribute in rebuilding South-East and Nigeria.

“My calling is not to insult others for me to do these. Have we been fairly treated? No. Can we solve the problem by hate speeches? For me, the answer is no.”
“Nobody, no matter the level of pretence can change my style of peaceful leadership. Ebonyi, in particular, has suffered so much even in the context of South-East.”
“We believe that we do not need hate speeches as a strategy to solve our problems,” the governor said.
He maintained that South-East would not allow any Miyetti vigilante in any part of the zone, neither would it allow cattle ranch nor cattle colony.
However, Umahi insisted that people of the zone must live peacefully with herdsmen that do not destroy farmlands especially those that were born here and had lived peacefully with the people.
“Finally, we insist there will be no Miyetti vigilante, no cattle ranch or colony; but we must live peacefully with herdsmen that do not destroy our farm lands especially those that were born here and have lived peacefully with us.”
“All South-East governors are together in this position,” the statement said.
For their gatherings, the Igbos prefers a silent and quiet environment. Some might assume that this might make their gatherings dull, but this is totally not the case. The Igbos have a way of making themselves happy even amidst the silence and quietness through some philosophical type discussions, sharing drinks and basically privately relating within themselves, family members and a couple of friends.
Proverbs
There is hardly a Nigerian tribe that loves the use of proverbs like the Igbos. The use of proverbs seems to be embedded in the very foundation of the culture of the Igbo people. Even when there are fights, especially amongst themselves, they are not accustomed to getting physical. They will typically raise their voices and very sternly make their points and end by delivering threats to one another which are usually in form of proverbs before walking away.
Igbo women are typically raised to be bold and somewhat comfortable with their sexuality. If an Igbo woman likes a man, it will show in no time in the way she relates with him and behaves around him. However, if an Igbo woman doesn’t like a man, she is unlikely to turn him down harshly rather she will continue to be a friend to the man, pet his head, keep him at arm’s length while still giving him just the right amount of attention to know she appreciates his affection towards her.
The Igbos are arguably the most business savvy tribe in the country. When it comes to entrepreneurial ventures, they are known to take the front seat. There is a common saying: “Give an Igbo man one thousand naira and he will make a million out of it”. Though this might not be true in every circumstance, you have to admit that there is hardly a group of people more business and entrepreneurially inclined as the Igbos. This is because Igbos seem to be the ones with the larger propensity for risk-taking that business and entrepreneurial ventures involve.
