Two feared dead, seven injured in gang war

Two persons were yesterday feared dead and seven others injured in a gang war at Morgan on Itire Road, Mushin, Lagos.
The fight, The Nation learnt, started around noon.
Eyewitnesses said about 100 hoodlums stormed NEPA bus stop on Itire Road, fighting with weapons.
“They started chasing themselves. Many scampered for safety. We don’t know what happened. People quickly locked their shops and houses, watching through the windows,” a witness, who simply identify himself as Segun, said.
A trader, Kemi Ojo, described the sight as “gory.”
She said: “I saw about 10 persons pursuing a guy around Morgan. The boy slipped and fell. They stabbed him with knives and broken bottles for about 10 minutes. I doubt if the guy can survive. Some people later came to rush him to a hospital around Idi-Araba. Go there (pointing towards a place), you will see his blood littering the place.”
A bus conductor, Shola Ajayi, said another person was killed earlier near NEPA bus stop.
He said some boys came to take the body away.
An Okada rider said some of the boys had been arrested.
“I don’t know the number of people arrested, but I saw them (policemen) arresting some of those boys. I wonder what this world is turning to. The hoodlums are teenagers. Don’t they have parents? Where are their mothers? They should be in school by the time they were fighting,” he said.
The Nation asked one of the three policemen that stood by a police van near Morgan bus stop if anybody has been arrested.
