How Youths in Nnewi make a fortune from environmental hazards

NNEWI: According to statistics, Anambra is the state with one least poverty rate among the indigenes, as this can be attributed to the entrepreneurial culture of the people of Anambra.

Our Reporters came across some group of young boys who are making Lemonade from Lemon, these young boys are taking advantage of the flood in Nnewi which moves sand from several places to the gutters, to gather heaps of sand for sale.

After each heavy rain, these boys (as seen in the pictures) visit drainages, pack the clogs of sand in those drainages and make them into a heap.

This not only makes way for the free flow of water across the drainages, it also serves as source of income to the boys and keeps them gainfully employed.
