BON Awards 2018 holds December 9

 

Best of Nollywood, BON Awards, the highly coveted award platform in Nollywood, has announced December 9, as the date for the 2018 edition of the ceremony, which also doubles as a celebration of a decade of the award ceremony, a press statement has revealed.

The statement was made public on Friday, September 28, and signed by the Chief Executive of BON, Seun Oloketuyi. Oloketuyi, who revealed that the host state and unveiling of the 2018 nominees will be announced October, 29, assured that this year’s edition, which is also the tenth year anniversary of the award, will be the mother of ball in Nollywood.

BON Awards is a yearly film event presented by Best of Nollywood Magazine to honor outstanding achievements in the Nigerian Movie Industry.

Helen Paul, a popular comedian, will team up with Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey, veteran actor, to host the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards which celebrates high fliers in the movie industry.

The awards ceremony has been scheduled to hold on Dec. 9 in Oyo state.

“The duo of Ekpeyong and Paul will thrill guests to `an evening of class’ at the gala night and ball-themed event,’’ Seun Oloketuyi, the Chief Executive Officer of BON Awards, said.

“A lot of creative contributions have gone into the event’s preparation, to make it a memorable 10 years celebration.

“Abiola Ajimobi, Governor of Oyo, will be a special guest of honour at the event which is sponsored by the state government,’’ he said in a statement.

“Among the 34 categories at the awards are the keenly contested ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ (English and Yoruba) and ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’ (English and Yoruba).

“Ramsey Nouah, Femi Branch and Kelechi Udegbe are among the six nominated in the best actor (English) category.
