A member of the Imo State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has accused the governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, and the party’s National Chairman, Ike Oye of trading with the APGA governorship ticket in Imo State.
The APGA National Working Committee (NWC), after several days of failed primary, adopted Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as the party’s governorship candidate for Imo State, amidst protest from both the other aspirants and the State Executice Committee members
The APGA SEC member, who would not want his name on print regretted that the Governor Willie Obiano and the APGA National Chairman could in their selfish interest kill the joy of all the party’s supporters in Imo State, adding that their moves had brought to an abrupt end the four years of build up and awareness which the Imo State Executive of APGA has done to attract the much membership that brought APGA to its enviable position before the botched governorship primary.
The angry official, who spoke with The AUTHORITY on phone from Owerri maintained that there was no governorship primary of the party in Imo State, nothing that the National leadership of ASPGA continued to deceive the State executive that they were sending a team electoral officials until the a day to the INEC dateline on conduct of party primaries, when the adopted Ifeanyi Ararume as the Imo governorship candidate
“There was no governorship primary in Imo State, what the governor of Anambnra State and APGA National Chairman did was to give the ticket to the highest bidder in Araraume.
“They have killed the joy of the party supporters in the State because everybody has scattered, all the aspirants have gone back to their base, as there is nothing like APGA in Imo State as at now.
“The Anambra traders in APGA national leadership have traded with the party and left us disorganized, after all our efforts to woo defectors. How could the national leaders of APGA sacrifice the party’s chase to Imo State governorship ticket to personal pockets, after all our efforts that returned APGA into an attractive state.

After collecting N11m from each of the 19 governorship aspirants, they could not give them the opportunity to face the delegates, who also paid N10, 000.00 to become delegates.
“We are now in a confused situation as the National leadership has thrown Imo APGA into a confused state; we do not even know that is going on now. As at today, it is only Ararume’s Destiny Mandate or Organization that are members of APGA in Imo State as every other person has dispersed.” The APGA official said
