ANOTHER MAN JUMPS INTO LAGOS LAGOON

A 40-year-old man identified as Adekunle Oluseyi from Ondo State has reportedly jumped into the Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.

According to the Twitter handle of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad, @rrslagos767, the man jumped into the Lagoon on Friday, October 2.

With the assistance of the Marine Police, fishermen and local divers, the body was recovered.

It was learnt that a crowd of passers-by stopped on the bridge to see the man while being rescued by the fishermen and officials of the State Waterways Authority.

The unidentified man, who reportedly wanted to take his life, was taken to hospital to receive medical attention but later died.

In March, 2017, something similar happened in that lagoon when a medical doctor, Allwell Orji, jumped into the lagoon and died.

Also, there were unconfirmed reports of a woman in a Sports Utility Vehicle who allegedly jumped off the bridge into the water in June, 2018.
