BREAKING: 3 FEARED DEAD, 10 INJURED IN NNEWI AUTO CRASH
At least 3 persons must have lost their lives and 10 others critically injured as Eastern Mass Transit bus en route Awka, with registration number AWK 44 XC collided with a cargo truck with registration number XD 377 FGG bound for Nnewi.
The driver of the truck was said to be sleeping when he slipped from his lane and rammed into an oncoming 18-passenger Eastern Mass Bus on its way to Awka.
The Eastern Mass driver identified as Ibecheozo Dunstan, was among ten persons critically injured in the accident and are rushed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi for medical attention; while three others whose identities are yet to be known were feared dead.
Other injured passengers include Okpala Sam Eloka from UNIZIK, Okofia Campus; Obiefuna Chidera of no. 42 Izundu Rd, Nnewichi; Ngozi Izuchukwu also from Nnewichi, and another identified as John from Togo.
Others include Nneka Osina from Cross River State; Chiamaka Eze and Okoro Eze from Ohozara in Ebonyi State; Lucy Uzoma, Mrs Uzoma Anosike and one Amarachi Emeziobi of no.1 Akaolisa Street, Uruagu, Nnewi.
The driver of the truck, whose identity was unknown, was said to have disappeared from the scene immediately the accident occurred.
Anaedooline reports that the Eastern Mass bus involved in the said accident has serial number 769.
