CHARITY HOME DISTRIBUTES 500 WHEEL CHAIRS, CRUTCHES TO CHALLENGED PERSONS IN ORAIFITE

It was jubilation galore on Sunday, December 16, 2018, as a charity organization based in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, gifted 500 wheelchairs, crutches and walking frames to challenged persons in Anambra.

The charity home, Jesus Abandoned Charity Organization, founded by an Oraifite born Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ananwa, also distributed items of clothing, rice, toiletries and food items to the challenged persons in the spirit of Christmas.

The event held at the Home located at the heart of Oraifite community was preceded with a Holy Mass presided over by the Father founder, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ananwa.

In his homily during the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Ananwa thanked God for giving him the vision and the opportunity to embark on such charity work.

He said he summoned the people to celebrate with them, to fête them, and to help them understand that they are not abandoned; because, there are conditions people will find themselves, and they will think they are forgotten.

“We, therefore, wish to wipe their tears, console them and give them hope”, he added.

He expressed gratitude to some organisations and spirited individuals, who have continued to support the charity work through monetary assistance and material donations; even as he solicited for more support to help the Home procure a bus to enhance its mobility; saying that both the charity home and the primary/secondary schools owned by the organization have no vehicle.

Those that benefited from the largesse included the old, the tramp, the deaf and dumb, the blind, the crippled, the widows and the poorest of the poor.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Onyedika Chikodili, who received a wheel chair, rice and some toiletries, commended the Home for its work of charity; and also thanked God Almighty, who put such vision and spirit inside Fr. Ananwa.
