ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY PASSES BILL ON FISHERY AND AQUACULTURE BUSINESS

The Bill sponsored by the Executive Arm of Government was passed during plenary on Tuesday.

Leading debate on the Bill, the Deputy Majority Leader, Mr. Paschal Agbodike, emphasized that when Governor Obiano gives assent to it, it will go a long way to stimulating the production of a fishery and Aquatic culture in Anambra State.

According to him, the Bill will take a lot of youths off the streets by creating employment opportunities for them, thereby meeting the vision of the present administration in Agriculture.

Speaker of the House, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, who described the bill as a welcome development, read out the bill while members of the House supported through a voice vote.

Also at plenary, the Anambra State Legislative Management Fund Bill scaled second reading.

The House later adjourned sitting till 22 January 2019
