IG Idris removes Imo commissioner of police, 3 deputies, 11 other
Imo commissioner of police Galadanchi and 14 other top officers have been redeployed by the Inspector-General of the force Ibrahim Idris

– Galadanchi will now be in charge of the Bauchi state command while former Kogi state command commissioner of police Ali Janga will take over at Imo command

– Spokesperson for the Imo Command confirmed that the officers were awaiting a new commissioner of police

The Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris has removed the Imo state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi.

Punch reports that Galadanchi has now been transferred to the Bauchi state Command.

The IGP also removed three of Galadanchi’s deputies commissioners in the state command.

According to the report, deputies removed were those in charge of Operations and State Criminal and Investigation Departments of the Command.

Also removed were 11 out of the 14 Assistant Commissioners of Police in the Command with those affected including area commanders and others heading strategic departments in the Command headquarters.

Punch quoted a police source as describing the redeployment as “a tsunami” because the Command had never witnessed such massive transfers.

“The IGP has removed the Commissioner of Police, all the three Deputy Commissioners of Police and 11 out of the 14 Assistant Commissioners of Police.

“The transfers are with immediate actions. The Command is expecting a new CP any moment from now,” the source, who was speaking on grounds of anonymity, said.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of Kogi State Command, Ali Janga, has reportedly been transferred to Imo state.

Police spokesperson for Imo Command Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed that they were awaiting the arrival of a new Commissioner of Police for the state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported earlier that the Police IG Idris was joined in a suit asking a federal high court in Abuja to declare as unlawful and unconstitutional, the declaration of “Operation Python Dance” across the nation by the Nigerian Army.
