The assistant manager, Makossa Lounge of Swiss Park Hotel, Nnewi, Chukwunonso Igbokwe, who was gruesomely murdered by yet to be identified gunmen inside Swiss Park hotel, Nnewi, Anambra State was finally laid to rest today, Thursday, 3rd January, 2019, in his hometown, Okpunoeze Uruagu Nnewi in Nnewi North Local government Area of Anambra State.
His body which arrived at his village at about 9:45 am was greeted by a wailing crowd of youths amidst curses that the perpetrators of the dastardly act be unmasked and brought to book.
The burial, which was held amid tears and wailing by his family, colleagues, associates, was officiated by priests of the Cathedral Church Of St. Mary’s Uruagu Nnewi of the Anglican Church.

The presiding cleric, Ven. Samuel Anowai, the Archdeacon of the Cathedral Church Of St. Mary’s Uruagu Nnewi, while speaking at the funeral service, described death as very inevitable for every man here on earth.
Speaking further, Ven. Anowai advised Christians to watch and pray because the days are evil. He urged Christians to always maintain righteous living at all times no matter the situations and circumstances.
While condemning the murder of Chukwunonso Igbokwe, the Anglican cleric urged the concerned agencies of government to fish out the perpetrators of the crime. He, however, prayed for the repose of the departed soul and that those behind the killing be unveiled and brought to justice.
After the burial service, some group of youths who were friends of Chukwunonso Igbokwe, took to the streets to protest while raining curses on Chukwunonso’s killers. They intermittently disrupted the movement of vehicles along Okpunoeze Bus stop and Nkwo to Nkwo road to press home their anger over the death of Chukwunonso Igbokwe.

It will be recalled that on the late hours of Wednesday, December 13, 2018, gunmen numbering about eight, invaded SwissPark Hotel Nnewi, and killed Chukwunonso Igbokwe who was the assistant manager of Makossa Lounge of the hotel.
A reliable source informed Anaedoonline that as soon as the gunman arrived the hotel, security man on duty went into hiding; while the gunmen went straight to the assistant manager of the hotel who was allegedly decorating the hotel with Christmas lights; and held him hostage.
It was learnt that the gunmen had demanded to see the security man, and threatened to kill the assistant manager if the security man failed to come. It was also gathered that at a point when they could not see the security man, they shot the assistant manager and left him at the pool of his blood.
