ANGLICAN DIOCESE AMICHI RAISES FUNDS FOR COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES

In continuation of the 10th anniversary of Diocese of Amichi (Anglican Communion), a general thanksgiving service was held at the Cathedral Church St. Andrew Amichi, Nnewi South, Anambra state.

The Diocese of Amichi was carved out of the Nnewi Diocese in 2009 under the Episcopacy of His Lordship, The Rt. Revd Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor as a need to propagate the gospel in the region.

The thanksgiving was graced by the Primate of the Anglican Communion, The Most Revd Nicholas D. Okoh who took the sermon.

The Primate enjoined the congregation to hold onto Jesus as a compass and let Jesus be a guiding light to them. He went further to encourage everyone to continue to contribute to the growth of the Diocese.

The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Revd Ikeakor gave “the Temple Builder award’’ to eleven (11) recipients and families. The Bishop said the reason for the award is to encourage them for the work that they have been doing in the Diocese since 2009.

The award recipients cut across different towns – Amichi, Umuchu, Ogidi, Osumenyi, Unubi, and other denominations.

The recipients of the Award include;

Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu (CEO, Chisco group of Companies)

High Chief Sir Dr. S.N. Ukachukwu (CEO SNOCOU Group)

Chief Sir Emmanuel Umeohia (CEO Emmab Group and Plazas)

Sir Micheal Agazie(CEO, Micheal Agazie Electricals Ltd)

Mr & Barr. Mrs. Chinedu Okeke (Prince Mega Agency, Port Harcourt)

Chief Okwudili Oti (CEO CALTEC Group of Companies

Ikeaba-Nzewi family

The thanksgiving service was used to raise the funds needed to build the Diocesan College of Nursing School (School of Nursing, Midwifery and Public Health).

The Diocese budgeted N250,000,000 to build the school

The award recipients and other members of the church donated handsomely towards the project which is scheduled to begin by February 2019.

The Governor of Anambra state, H.E. Willie Obiano was ably represented by Ven. Dr. Amechi Okwuosa.

The Governor thanked Bishop Ikeakor for his good works, welcomed the Primate and thanked him for coming. He donated a sum of Two million Naira to support the College of Nursing Project.

The Governor’s representative encouraged people to go and collect their PVCs.

The Diocese has grown to own about nine (9) Diocesan institutions which include the Diocesan Hospital, Holy Child Convent school, Sure Anchor Micro-Finance bank, College of Nursing, Masters’s Vessel Seminary, Sure Anchor media, Diocesian Bookshop, Diocesian Integrated Farms, Sure Anchor Table Water factory, all in Nnewi South.
