Chinedu Okeke, a Senegal based boxer, from Ndiojukwu Uruagu Nnewi, winner of HBE Light Middleweight Intercontinental Champion in 2018 said that “what motivated him to organize this event is that he has observed that boxing as a sport is neglected in Nigeria, especially in Anambra.

The boxer said, “Since I came back with the Middleweight Intercontinental Champion title that nobody even the Government has appreciated it, so I took it upon myself to encourage and support those that are ready to go into boxing are not financially supported in any way”.

However, Anthony Nzewi Obiorah (Nwaogbuefi Ezenyimba), the Sole Promoter of the event, who is sponsoring the program through his promotion Agency, Heritage Promotion Company, said that the main focus of the upcoming event is to show Anambraians that boxing is a good sport, just like football and also to make sure that boxing does not die. He said the upcoming event is open for sponsorship and partnership from private individuals or government parastatal.
