STRANGE FIRE GULP AJALI POLICE STATION IN ORUMBA NORTH

Strange fire from yet-to-be-known source entered the Ajali Police Station in Orumba North LGA and consumed police vehicles and some other valuables.

The fire incident, according to police source, took place in the early hours of Thursday, February 14, at about 2.30am.

Sources from Ajali community told Anaedooline that unknown gunmen invaded the police station and freed members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, detained at the police cell, adding that policemen in the station were beaten up and chased away after the people had set the police station on fire.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Haruma Mohammed, confirmed the incident. He said, however that the cause of the fire is yet unknown.

He said, “It is just a fire incident for now until contrary is proved through discreet investigation.

 

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Dandaura, is presently at the scene for on the spot assessment.

“He ordered the DC Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to conduct a discreet investigation in order to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident”.
