THE BOY LEADING THE NEW-SCHOOL MUSIC IN NNEWI
Prince IfechukwuAzuka aka Gentle prince is the biggest new act in town. His very many tunes have been enjoying massive airplay, both on radio stations in Nnewi and beyond. According to the Nnewichi-Nnewi based artist, many people have said Positive and negative things about him, which is what inspired his latest song “testimony”, through it all He believes he is a testimony.

Gentle prince is also known as Oyoyo, which is a slogan used in every song released by the musician. He started his musical journey from his secondary school days in Nnewi high school, Nnewi where he performed better in music. Even though he didn’t start music immediately, he knew that music was part and parcel of him. Gentle prince moved around for a while before deciding to settle back home in Nnewi to make good music.
In 2015, Gentle prince released his first single titled, “KaAnyiJebe Nnewi” which was a huge hit. He also dropped another single “Anyi mama” which was copyright of the highlife legend “Chief OsitaOsadebe”. “I love highlife, highlife-hip-pop” but generally, I don’t follow any specific pattern for my songs. I like to be flexible so I can do any genre of song that I like” says the testimony crooner. Gentle Prince has performed on various stages across Anambra at events like Anambra talent Exhibition, Nnewi got talent, Orafite talent hunt, Awka got talent and also received the award as the founder of the Anambra talent exhibition. Gentle prince has been performing as a solo art for the past four years until he was recently signed in January by a Nnewi based record label, Soul Trip Entertainment.

Gentle prince has many singles to his credit like Ifeoma, odighionyeiheomasoronso and others. He recently released his latest song “Testimony” which has been airing on radio stations, clubs and bars in Anambra state. He hopes to do a collabo with Flavour, Phyno, Humble Smith before the year ends. “I believe it will be a good year for me and I will thrill people with amazing songs this year,” said Gentle prince.
