Nnamdi Azikiwe Students Involved In Ghastly Motor Accident (Photos)

A minibus (shuttle) conveying students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University crashed into a truck leaving the shuttle driver dead, and many students badly injured.

The incident which occurred on Saturday evening, 11th May 2019, along Government House / Channel road, was quickly reported to the SUG president – Comr Okafor Joseph who swung into action to salvage the situation and procure medical attention for the casualties.

The driver of the student’s shuttle bus lost his life after some hours leaving two students who were badly wounded and unconscious at the emergency ward of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku (COOUTH).

The SUG President settled their medical bills while the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Joseph Ahaneku, supplied beverages and food materials to compliment the settled bills.

About 5 of the students who were involved in the accident, were discharged on that night.

The remaining two who remained had more severe cases, one has a cut on his head while the one one is unconscious and has been transferred to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi

The SUG President who has continued to keep tabs on their recovery is urging the students of the institution to report to the SUG or jointly reprimand any driver who drives recklessly while conveying them to school.
