Over Billing: Onitsha Residents petition EEDC

Residents of Atuchukwu lane Odoapku Onitsha, in Onitsha North LGA of Anambra state have petitioned the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) over allegations of some financial scam imposed on them by the staff of the company in Onitsha.

The residents in a petition written on their behalf by J.I Umennajiego and Co. Chambers, of 88 Oguta Road Achike House Onitsha and signed by J.I Orakaeze Esq, alleged that they were being compelled to pay for non-existent bills for unsolicited meters.

The petition which was made available to the press reads “we have been briefed and our professional services have been retained by James Umeh and Atuchukwu B.O of No 4, Atuchukwu Lane, Odoakpu Onitsha whom we shall hereinafter refer to as “our clients” on whose authority and instruction we write to you. We have been instructed to bring to your notice about the exorbitant rate of charges and bills accruing from four bills/account sent to them without solicitation.”
