South East Market Leader Appeals For Decongestion Of Port Harcourt Sea Port
Chief Gozie Akudolu, the newly elected President General South East Amalgamated Market Traders Association (SEAMATA)has appealed to Comptroller General of Customs to decongest Port Harcourt Sea Port and look into the alleged extortion being perpetrated by some Custom Officials.
Recall that Anaedoonline.com reported on the election of new executives of South East Amalgamated Market Traders Association (SEAMATA) which was held yesterday 25th of June 2019 at Ascort hotel Enugu State.

In his inaugural speech, Chief Gozie Akudolu highlighted the difficulties being faced by South Eastern importers at the Port Harcourt Sea Port because of the state congestation at the Port.
Speaking, he said, “it has not been easy for traders in the Southeast to clear their goods due to the state of congestion, this has led to delay and stunted growth of a lot of businesses amongst traders as well as the added cost of the clearance.”
“Goods that used to take 30 days to be cleared now takes up to 65days, this delay in clearance has affected their business drastically.”
The Newly elected Market Leader also harped on the alleged extortion being carried on traders by some customs officers, which has been a source of major complaint from traders. He subsequently appealed to the Comptroller General Of Customs To remedy the situation as it will go along way in easing the financial burden on Importers
