Ihedioha Sacks Some Imo Officials

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha has dissolved all statutory commissions in the state, directing chairmen of the affected commissions to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or Heads of Departments before the close of work on Monday, July 1.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Uche Onyeagucha, said the governor took the action in accordance with all enabling laws, including the Imo State House of Assembly resolution 177, paragraph (2) of June 3, 2019.

Those affected are the Civil Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, Imo State Independent Electoral Commission and Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.

Similarly, the Governor also directed the termination of all contractual appointments, made by Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) including consultants engaged by the immediate past administration of Rochas Okorocha.

He further said all the aides of former political office holders during Okorocha’s tenure should stop parading themselves at the Government House and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). He ordered that the pay-rolling officers should de-payroll them.
