Investigation Ongoing To Apprehend The Killer – South Africa High Commision

The acting South African High Commissioner, Bobby Moroe, has condoled with the family of Mrs Elizabeth Ndubuisi-Chukwu who was recently killed in South Africa.

He also condoled with the Nigerian government, as well as Nigerians in general, saying the South African government is treating the situation with the highest priority and an investigation has commenced.

Moroe said this after a closed-door meeting with the Chairman Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri, as well as Mr Chidi Ndubuisi Chukwu, the brother of the deceased at the South Africa High Commission in Lagos.

He further stated that a video of the incident is being examined by the South African authorities and more information will be passed along as time goes on.

In response, Mrs Dabiri said Nigerians are eager to see that justice is served in the matter for the sake of both countries and the family of the victim.

Prior to the closed-door session, protesters from the National of Nigerian Students (NANS) had stormed the South Africa High Commission, demanding justice.

Also on Monday, a group of lawyers had stormed the office, demanding that the issue is not swept under the carpet.
