Youth Leadership: Nonso Okafor Calls For Inclusion And Improved Policy.

For Nigeria to produce transformational leadership, the Member Representing Nnewi North Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Nonso Okafor (Smart), is advocating that there must be an institutional and deliberate policy to invest in youth empowerment and leadership initiatives.

Nonso Okafor (Smart) made this known while speaking as the Guest Speaker at Nigeria Economics Student Association (NESA) Leadership Summit on Friday, 23rd August, 2019, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Speaking during the summit, Nonso Okafor (Smart) also called on the youths to wake up and show leadership capacity that will justify their agitation for leadership inclusion.

According to the lawmaker, the youths possess enough talents and creative abilities which if harnessed, will improve our social, political and economic development.

Stressing on the need to prioritize institutional and deliberate policy towards repositioning the youths for leadership, Nonso Okafor (Smart) said that there must be critical policy and institutional arrangement focused on youth development and inclusion.

According to him, prominent Nigeria leaders like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Samuel Ladoke Akintola, Yakubu Gowon, Anthony Enahoro, Ahmadu Bello and Chief Festus Okotie-eboh, were at their young age when they were entrusted with the leadership responsibility in Nigeria.

He called on youths to depart from being praise singers, critics and rise to embrace leadership responsibilities both in the Local, State and National level.

Nonso Okafor (Smart) however bagged award for his advocacy for Youth Leadership.

Meanwhile, Nonso Okafor with the speaker of Anambra state house of Assembly and some other members of the state house of Assembly had previously visited Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson) in his home in Nnewi to discuss possible areas of partnership.
