Ndume Congratulates Buhari Over Tribunal Victory, Hails Atiku

A former Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, on the President’s victory on Wednesday at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The Justice Mohammed Garba who led the five-member panel of the Tribunal had dismissed the petition by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in its entirety, saying they failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubts.

In a statement he personally signed by in Abuja, Ndume said the tribunal verdict vindicated millions of Nigerians who after the elections admonished Atiku not to challenge Buhari’s victory at the poll on the grounds that the Presidential Election was clearly by Buhari.

Ndume said the tribunal judgment did not just confirm the faith and support of millions who thronged to vote Buhari for a second term in office, but a resounding victory for our country’s democracy.

He said, “I heartily congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress for the judgment of the tribunal which confirmed his re-election this year.

“I commend also, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party for choosing the path of law and order to express their dissatisfaction with the election results.

“The Wednesday’s judgment only vindicated millions of Nigerians who admonished Atiku not to go court to contest against your victory at the poll for reasons that your election was free and fair.”
