South East Governor’s Resolve To Meet Buhari

Governors of the South East rose from a prolonged meeting on Monday, resolving to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari.

The resolution was made at an expanded meeting of the Governors and other leaders of the zone in Enugu.

Addressing newsmen at the end of the meeting, President of the forum and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi said they would discuss the welfare of the people of the South East during the meeting.

“We resolved that we will see Mr. President for the welfare of our people,”he said.

The Governor however did not provide details of the issues that will form the crux of the meeting.

”The details of our meeting with the President will be disclosed in due course” he said.

It is however believed that the meeting would address the delay in the commencement of Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the bad state of South East roads.

Other governors present at the meeting include: Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Imo State Deputy Governor, Gerald Ilona.

Others at the meeting were the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nnia Nwodo, Jim Nwobodo, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Victor Umeh, Arch Bishop Chukwuma of Enugu Province, Anglican Church, Bishop Callistus Onaga of Enugu Catholic Diocese and other top clerics.
