NBTI Boss Underscores Need To Embrace Technology Incubation

The Director-General National Board for Technology Incubation, NBTI, Jubrin Mohammed has said there is every need for citizens to embrace technology incubation in order to help boost the country’s industrial base.

Mohammed also that technology incubation remains an integrated support program established by the federal government purposely to develop a technologically competitive industrial base through a grassroots approach in the country.

He made this known while speaking during the opening ceremony of Entrepreneurship Skill and Talent Development at the technology incubation center in Enugu.

Mohammed who was represented by the acting center manager, Technology Incubation Center Enugu, Thelma Ifeoma Nwabueze, said that the training was primarily aimed at talent hunting and imbibing into the participant’s different skills for self-reliance, wealth creation, employment generation and less dependent on white-collar jobs.

He explained that the objectives of technology incubation are to assist the youth especially to Incubate and maximize their growth potentials and also become financially self-sustaining after two to three years.

”The center is also out to impact practical and result in oriented training in several industrial trades” he said.

He noted that Special training programs have been introduced for rural artisans in the society in collaboration with the institutions of higher learning and other research.

On his part, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi commended the technology incubation center in Enugu for the successes recorded over the years.

Ugwuanyi who was represented by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Obi Kama said the program is intended to among other things, encourage the youth to be self-reliant.

He advised youths in the state to embrace the programs of the center as that would not only improve science and technology but bring about development in the state.
