Nnewi Progressive Youth movement (NPYM) Rewards Pupils in Nnewi, Anambra State (Photos)

As part of the corporate social responsibility(CSR) of the Nnewi Progressive Youth movement (NPYM), the group has paid the fees of some pupils in Ndiakwu community school.

The group visited Ndiakwu community school today, 21st October 2019 to reward the hard work of the students who had topped their class the previous term.

The group chairman, Mr. Nelson Okeke while addressing the student stated that “in every labour there is profit.” We are here to reward the students that topped each of their classes from Primary 1-5 with the hope that this will spur others to work harder, he said.

Overall, five students from each class were given cash rewards. The pupils include Abuchi Divine, Solomon Prosper, Odo Chisimdi, Ifediba Mmesoma and
Martins Adukwulu.

The delighted pupils were seen grinning from ear to ear in excitement as they each received their rewards. One of the pupils who spoke to Anaedoonline.com, Abuchi Divine, stated that he was happy for his recognition by the Nnewi Youth Progressive Movement.

He thanked the group, the teachers and his parents for their support. In like manner, Solomon Prosper one of the pupils encouraged other students to work hard so they can get rewards too.

The Assistant Headmistress, Okoli Benedict. C. was also delighted by the visit of the Nnewi Progressive Youth movement (NPYM) to the school.

She said, ” I am grateful to Nnewi Progressive Youth movement (NPYM) for recognizing the pupils for their hard work and I am hopeful that more like this will come. Also, I appreciate the teachers for their hard work and I pray that God will bless them”.

In an interview with anaedoonline.ng, the NPYM Chairman stated that NYPM is a group of young minds interested in raising another generation of young people through education.

We(Nnewi) are known for business but we cannot continue in business, education is the bedrock. He stressed that the group is taking this project farther to other communities and will be making their next stop in Uruagu.

He added that if they can get support from well-meaning citizens it will help their project. He urged other pupils who didn’t get any reward to work hard to make it next time.

Nnewi Progressive Youth movement (NPYM), is an association of like minds that started as a Facebook group and metamorphosed into a movement where it’s members meet from time to time. The group is interested in joining hands with everyone to build the Nnewi community.
