Onitsha Inferno: Imposters Posing As Victims – Kingsley Moghalu.

Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, has lamented about the pernicious activities of some people who poses as victims of the Onitsha Market Inferno, describing it as a “Double Tragedy”

Prof. Kingsley Moghalu who was at the market today, Monday, October 21st, 2019, to sympathize with victims of the fire outbreak in Ochanja Market Onitsha, said that the real victims of the inferno are being neglected.

Reacting through his official twitter handle he wrote, “I am visiting Onitsha market and the victims of the terrible fire which destroyed millions of naira worth of property and claimed several lives”

“Double tragedy: the real victims have not been met and some persons are “fronting” as the victims. We must deal with the real victims”

He noted that the real victims are at Zik’s Avenue/Emordi Street in the market, the epicenter of the tragedy.

“I have spoken with the owners of the plazas destroyed by fire and will do what I can to contribute to restoring the victims of this tragedy”

It will be recalled that on Thursday, October 17th, 2019, few days after the fire outbreak, Prof. Kingsley while sympathizing with victims of the inferno through his twitter handle, called for more investment in fire safety.
