Anambra Speaker Lauds FRSC

Delegates of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command led by its State Commander, Corps Commander, Andrew Kumapayi. And other high ranked officers of the Corps were received by Rt. Hon. Uche Victor Okafor the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly in his office.

Speaking on the crux of the visit, Kumapayi said the state command deem it necessary to familiarize with the Speaker and Honourable Members of the 7th Assembly of the state, to alert them on the Command’s readiness to face the festive season with robust and innovative approaches to ensure hitch-free ride in the state.

According to FRSC Boss, “I have worked in many states but having worked for few months in Anambra, of a truth, Anambra State is the best, the collaboration here is amazing most especially between the state government and security operatives. Here in Anambra we have no excuse not to effectively discharge our duties because the government has provided all the crucial enablement and has indeed smoothened the field for security services to effectively discharge their duty with ease and I assure you that Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State Command will intensify its efforts towards ensuring safety of road users.

In his part, Rt. Hon. Okafor extolled Governor Willie Obiano for providing the FRSC with vehicles and other utilities to enable them carry out their duties in the state through “Operation Kpochapu One” and with the recently launched “Operation Kpochapu Two” noting that the strengthened security of lives and properties in Anambra State has made the state the most secured in the country and investment-friendly environment where investors flourishes exceedingly.

Okafor described Anambra as business hub which houses people from different part of the world for business-related purposes and said that the state witnesses massive inflow of commuters during Christmas season and urged the FRSC Anambra Command to checkmate activities capable of causing accidents during the season which includes (drink-drive, over-speeding, over-loading, unnecessary overtake etc).

The Speaker further applauded the state command of Federal Road Safety Corps for what he described as commendable service achieved by the sector and encouraged them to maximize their services to ensure full security of lives in the highways as festive season slides in earnest.
