In the knowledge that representation without engagement with the people is a mockery of democracy, the Member Representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Okafor (Smart), has opened his constituency office Nnewi, intended to serve as an interface between him and his constituents.
The office located at No. 85 Old Onitsha Road Nnewi, Eberechukwu Plaza, was commissioned today, Friday, 1st, November 2019, by the President General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Chief Sir Ugochukwu Udemezue (Ifeneti), and assisted by the North Nnewi Transition Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Prince Chukwudi Orizu and Hon. Chike Agwuncha.
Commissioning the office, Chief Sir Ugochukwu Udemezu (Ifeneti) commended Hon. Nonso Okafor for keeping to his promise, saying that the accessibility of a legislator by their constituents remains a key to effective representation.
He said that the opening of the office is significant as it will aid Hon. Nonso Okafor to interact with Ndi Nnewi, as well as enable Nnewi residents to reach out to him.
Speaking after the commissioning, Hon. Nonso Okafor (Smart) said that the office which is part of the fulfillment of his elections promises will be open to all his constituents.

He said that the office will further create an avenue for him to engage and interact with his constituents as his official engagements in Awka permits, respond to their enquiries and complaints within a reasonable timeframe and implement solutions.
While thanking his constituents for their support, he promised to continue to provide quality representation for Nnewi through his legislative activities
On the ongoing case in the Appeal Court, he said he is very optimistic that the Almighty God who gave him victory in the election and election tribunal, will grant him victory again.
On his part, Nnewi North Transition Committee Chairman, Rt. Hon. Chukwudi Orizu commended Hon. Nonso Okafor, noting that the office will help him in his engagement with his constituents, he urged Nnewi residents to continue to support the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) led government.
Commending Hon. Nonso Okafor for opening the office, the President General of Nnewi Youth Forum, Amb. Paul Muoneke (JP), said that Nonso Okafor has shown his determination in giving Nnewi quality representation, he urged him not to relent in his drive-in changing the face of representation in the town.
Speaking also the Director-General of Nonso Okafor Campaign Organization, Arc. Paul Ileka (Solid Base) thanked the people for their support, promising that Hon. Smart will justify the confidence reposed in him.
The short ceremony had the presence of the Member Representing Onitsha II Constituency, Hon. Barr. Uzoma Eli, the Nnewi North Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Chike Agwuncha, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Igweamaka Orajiuba (Obejilinasa), all Transition Committee members, all APGA Ward Chairmen, and other personalities.
