Nonso Okafor Seeks Intervention on Excessive Billing, Erosion and Potholes in Nnewi

A Member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Okafor, has urged the State Government to save his constituents from the excessive billing of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Commission (EEDC), the ravaging 100-Foot Erosion and the dilapidated road infrastructure in the town.

Nonso Okafor (Smart), who represents Nnewi North Constituency of Anambra State, made the call while supporting a motion moved yesterday, Tuesday, 18th May, 2019, at Anambra State House of Assembly.

Speaking during the second plenary of the 7th Assembly, Nonso Okafor called on the attention of the Government to look into the exorbitant prices paid by customers of Enugu Electricity Distribution Commission (EEDC), in Nnewi.

While thanking the Executive Governor of Anambra State for what he is doing in Nnewi especially in area of Health Care and Electricity, he pleaded that the committee set up by the Governor on Rural Electrification project to liaise with Enugu Electricity Distribution Commission (EEDC), on making sure that the excessive billing of residents of Nnewi is reduced.

On erosion, he said, “I call on the Governor to come to our aid on 100-Foot Road Nnewi which has been cut-off by rain, it has become a terrible sight”

While also commending the Governor on his initiative on Operation Zero-Potholes, through the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency, he said,

“It appears that the Anambra Road Maintenance Agency fails to notice that there is a place called Nnewi North, because I have not seen any work being done in my consistency by that agency, I call on the Governor to direct whomever is in charge to come to our aid, our constituency is ready to provide a zonal office for the agency to be situated in Nnewi, because of the urgent importance of the agency in Nnewi”

He however promised Anambrians that the 7th Assembly of Anambra State House of Assembly will not disappoint them.
