The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has sued over the incident of bullying and attack meted out on her in the school.

In a viral video circulated on April 22, 2024, Bwala was seen enduring a brutal attack by a group of students within the school premises. The group, reportedly led by Miss Maryam Hassan and Miss Faliya, subjected Bwala to physical and emotional abuse, prompting widespread outrage on social media.

In response to the incident, Bwala, through her legal representatives at Deji Adeyanju and Partners, has demanded swift and decisive action from the school authorities. The solicitors issued a letter emphasizing the urgent need for investigation and the imposition of severe sanctions on the identified perpetrators, including Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students allegedly involved in a pattern of bullying behavior.

The letter, signed by Marvin Omorogbe Esq., highlights the repeated failure of the school to address instances of bullying effectively, leading to a hostile and unsafe environment for students. It condemns the school’s tepid response to the incident, which referred to the battery as a mere “incident between minors,” failing to acknowledge the severity of the situation.

Bwala’s legal team has given the school a 48-hour ultimatum to take action against the student bullies, failing which they have vowed to pursue legal recourse against Lead British International School, Gwarimpa, Abuja.

The case underscores the pressing need for schools to implement robust anti-bullying policies and take proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students within their care.
