Nigeria has been ranked as one of the top countries producing yam in the world with about sixty percent of the global production
This was disclosed by the permanent secretary of the ministry of Agriculture Dr. M.B Umar in Abuja at the National Awareness workshop on yam, organized by the Advocacy and Resource Mobilization Team (ARMT) of Yam Improvement for Income and Food Security in West Africa (YIIFSWA), an initiative of the @IITA CGIAR
