Imo Holds First Ever Sports Summit: Ihedioha Inspects Facilities (Photos)

Earlier this morning, His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha, CON, led the Honourable Minister for Youth & Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, on an inspection tour to the Dan Anyiam Stadium Complex, Owerri.

The Sporting Facility is undergoing a comprehensive renovation, driven by the Governor’s determination to revive the Sports sector in Imo State.

The Governor was received by the Chairman of Imo State Sports Commission, Chief Fan Ndubuoke.

In the words of the Youth & Sports Minister: ”Imo State is lucky to have a 21st Century-compliant Governor. With what I have seen, Imo State is going to build a lasting legacy in Sports.

The Governor also inspected the Owerri Township Stadium which is also undergoing renovation.

The Minister is in the state to attend and deliver the Keynote Address at the first ever Imo Sports Summit organized by the Imo State Sports Commission.

The 2-day Summit holding at the Sam Mbakwe Conference Hall of Concorde Hotel Owerri has the theme, Rebuilding Imo Through Sports.

The Summit which has in attendance key players in the National and International Sports scene is aimed at driving conversations towards the full development of sports in the state.

His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha was at the Summit alongside his deputy, Engr. Gerald Irona; the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chiji Collins; and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who is also the Chairman of the occasion, among others.
