Governor Emeka Ihedioha yesterday disclosed that plans are already underway for a strategic partnership in the areas of cutting-edge technology in waste management, between Imo State Government and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
Governor Ihedioha, who was also the Special Guest of Honour, stated this yesterday at the 32nd Convocation Ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
At the event, the Governor congratulated the graduating students for making it through the rigorous life at the University. He also enjoined the young school leavers to make it a point of duty to contribute their quota to our collective task of nation building.

The Visitor to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, President Muhammadu Buhari, was ably represented by the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba.
In his remarks, the Visitor thanked the Governor for his visible efforts in moving the state forward in such a short time. He especially appreciated the Governor for embarking on the construction of the dilapidated Naze/Poly Nekede/FUTO Ihiagwa/Obinze Road.
The Honourable Minister also assured that the Federal Government will not hesitate to live up to their responsibility, in light of the improving economic condition in the State.
The Governor attended the Convocation in the company of the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Uche Onyeagocha; the Chief of Staff, Barr. Chris Okewulonu; the State Chairman of the PDP, Barr. Charles Ezekwem, Elder Statesman, Dr Chris Asoluka, and other top government functionaries.
