Governor Emeka Ihedioha Breaks The Ground For Ohaji/Egbema Electrification Project

His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha, yesterday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Township Electricity Development Network (TEDN) for Awara, Asaa, Obiti, Umuapu, Ochia and Obile Communities in Ohaji /Egbema Local Government Area.

In his address at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Engr Anthony Okwuosha, thanked the Governor for approving the project, considering that the past administration neglected and marginalized the people of Ohaji and other oil producing communities, despite their huge economic and human resource potential.

The Awara-Asaa-Obiti-Umuapu-Ochia-Obile Electrification Project is aimed at connecting the area to the national grid. This is in harmony with the #RebuildImo agenda that includes universal access to electricity in the entire state, with the objective of connecting every household from the urban centres to the remotest country side, to the national power grid.
