Nigeria for Democracy (NFD), one of the registered political parties in Nigeria has insisted that it would produce the next governor of Enugu State in 2023.
National Chairman, Dr. Asuquo Mendie Archibong, who doubled as presidential candidate of the party during the 2019 general election, said the party has mapped out plans to actualise the tall dream.
He spoke at a one-day summit tagged: “Promoting Participatory Democracy at the Local Government, Enugu State in Focus,” organised by the Enugu State chapter of the party in Enugu.
According to Archibong, NFD was hardly mentioned each time political parties were listed in the country.
“But it would surprise people how the party will make inroads in future elections” he said.
He said the party would constitute leaders in the three senatorial zones of the state, 17 local government leaders and 260 ward leaders who will campaign vigorously for the party in the coming LG elections.

“We received votes in all the states in Nigeria during the last general elections. The party members mobilised their people very well especially in the North. NFD is not a regional party but a national party and we have representatives in all the states” he said.
Speaking further, he said “after elections, other parties fizzled out but NFD has continued. We are focusing on taking back Nigeria, Enugu State inclusive”.
