Police Recovers Vehicle Snatched At Gunpoint, Nab One Suspect

On the 20th of February 2020 at about 11:30am, following a distress call that a toyota car was snatched at gunpoint close to Mummy spot Bar Awka, Police operatives attached to B’ Division Awka in conjunction with the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) pursued the hoodlums and on reaching Igbariam junction,suspects abandoned the stolen car and ran into the Bush.
One suspect was arrested and the vehicle, a Toyota corolla, with Reg number AwK 853 TK was recovered.

Meanwhile, investigation still ongoing and effort is being intensified to get the fleeing suspects arrested in order to bring them to justice.

The same day, at about 10:37am, one Evans Obuneme Nsoani aged 36 years was arrested by Police detectives attached to Igboukwu Division.

Suspect had on the 18 February 2020 at about 10:pm, allegedly assaulted one Onyebuchi Ashiema aged about 45 years of Nsukka but resides at Ngo village Igboukwu in Anambra State over a “wrongly parked vehicle” on the highway.

As a result, victim who allegedly suffered severe beating from the suspect was rushed to the hospital and later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Postmortem examination revealed that victim died as a result of internal injury he sustained following the assault.Corpse deposited at Dr Nlogha Memorial hospital Uwani,Enugu for autopsy and case is under investigation at the State CID Awka after which suspect would be charged to Court for prosecution.

On another incident, On the 18th of February 2020 at about 4:30pm, one Ikechukwu Uchendu of No. 5 Onuorah Street Amaenyi Awka reported at the Central Police Station Awka that one Pastor Richard Ifeanyi Obi ‘m’ who came from Warri to perform family prayers in his house was found lying Lifeless in the room he slept.

Following the report,Police detectives attached to CPS Awka visited the scene, photographed the victim and rushed him to the hospital where he was certified dead by the medical doctor.Corpse deposited at Amaku hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP John B.Abang, fdc has ordered for a discreet investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident please.
