Oluwo Of Iwo Accused Other Monarchs Of Jealousy, Rubbishes Suspension

Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo, has said nobody, except Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, can suspend him.

He also accused other monarchs of jealousy, saying his style is infuriating to them.

In His words “It seems they are jealous of my style. They all had grudges against me, they are my enemies but I know God will fight for me,” he said.

He insisted that another monarch cannot suspend him, saying they only had the power to bar him from attending the meeting of the traditional rulers.

Speaking about his alleged rudeness to the Alaafin Of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, he said he was not crowned in Oyo and is not expected to do the bidding of the king.

A committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

The royal fathers at their emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, arrived at the decision to suspend Oba Akanbi.

His suspension comes after he allegedly assaulted Dhirkulahi Akinropo, the Agbowu of Ogbagbaa, at a peace meeting last Friday.

The monarch insist stating Oba (Dr)Telu is the one and only Oluwo of Iwoland. He was never suspended as Oluwo of Iwoland.
Osun State Traditional Council has only recommended his suspension from the council meetings and activities for six months on the guise that his conduct (been too flashy,stylish, human rights defender and swagging) and that is even subject to Governors approval
