Coronavirus: 58 People Who Had Contact With Italian Quarantined

The federal government has said on Monday that a total of 58 people who had contact with the Italian who tested positive to Coronavirus have been quarantined.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire while giving updates on the situation of the unnamed Italian said to be undergoing recovery at a facility inside Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.

According to him, the condition of the patient in Lagos was good, adding that he was seen strolling around his room from a glass window.

Ehanire stated further that 19 people came in contact with the Italian in Lagos while 39 people had contact with him in Ogun state.

The minister disclosed that all the people who had contact with him had been identified and were now being tracked and monitored and in self-isolation in their homes.

“The airline that brought in the patient has been notified and advised to put their crew on observation.”

Though the Minister said he did not see the taxi driver that carried the Italian on his visit to Lagos on Sunday, he said the taxi rider had been identified and kept under observation and will be monitored for 14 days.

However, the minister confirmed that 156 passengers, who were on the airplane with the victim were being tracked.
