Just In: UEFA Postpones Euro 2020 For A Year

Union of European Football Associations, UEFA has postponed Euro 2020 until next summer, the Norwegian FA claim.

Euro 2020 was due to begin on June 12 for one month, but the decision has been made to postpone the finals due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has wreaked havoc on the sporting calendar.

The tournament, which involves 24 nations and takes place across 12 host cities, will instead be played in the summer of 2021, starting on June 11 and ending on July 11.

Moreso, UEFA have called off all Europe’s top two competitions, Uefa Champions League and Europa League games ties slated for next week due to coronavirus outbreak.

This is in line with the precautionary measures against the pandemic, the virus which is fast spreading across Europe.

Some Players of top flight European clubs like Paulo Dybala and Danielle Rugani of Juventus, Callum Hudson Odoi of Chelsea and recently Arsenal Manager have all tested positive for the virus leading to the self-isolation of whole teams and staffs.

Also, the English Football League have suspended all football fixtures in England till April 4 after an emergency meeting on Friday, this is amid fears of coronavirus.

The EFL reached the decision amidst fears of the dreaded Coronavirus (COVID-19)
