COVID-19: Gov. Uzodinma Orders Payment Of Salaries

The Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma in order to Cushion effects Of COVID-19 Stay At Home Order has directed the commencement of payment of salaries to Civil Servants and salaries of all staff of tertiary institutions in the State.

According to a press statement credited to the Commissioner for Information and strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, it read; “The salaries of all civil and public servants in the state have been paid today the 26th day of March, 2020.

His Excellency the state governor Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma has directed the banks to credit the workers with immediate effect. All staff should expect alert from their banks before the end of the day

Also, the salaries of all staff of tetiary institutions in the state have been released to the relevant institutions for immediate payments. However the institutions are advised to ensure that any of thier staff with BVN or account number issues is cleared before his or salary is paid.

Anaedoonline recently reported that the Governor of Imo State, as part of precautionary measures to prevent the entry and spread of Covid-19 in Imo state has urge workers to stay at home.
The number one citizen of the state ordered that Imo civil servants aged 45 years and above are now to work from home while all night life and entertainment hubs will cease operations from today.

Gov Uzodinma while addressing a press conference said, “we will continue to update us as to the precautionary measures as we find it necessary to do so.” He said, Imo is safe and in the hands of God.
