The Executive Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma has debunked rumors that he was in self-isolation.
Gov. Uzodinma also clarified that he had since tested negative for the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
The Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the Governor Mr Oguwike Nwachuku, had stated yesterday that the governor was in high spirit and was working to deliver the shared prosperity government he was driving.
Following the report that the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari had tested positive to Coronavirus and fears that some top government officials including governors who may have been around Abba Kyari are in danger of being infected by the disease, Imo state governor have cleared the air on doubts over his health.
According to a statement credited to the Imo state governor, Gov Hope Uzodinma denied the rumour of him isolating himself.
The statement read in part: “Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State is not in any self-isolation over Coronavirus.
He has long tested negative and has no need to self- isolate himself. He is therefore in high spirit working to ensure that Imolites are protected from the epidemic and enjoy his government of shared prosperity.”

Anaedoonline reported that the number one citizen of Imo as part of precautionary measures to prevent the entry and spread of Covid-19 in Imo state has urge workers to stay at home.
Gov Uzodinma while addressing a press conference said, “we will continue to update us as to the precautionary measures as we find it necessary to do so.” He said, Imo is safe and in the hands of God.
