Coronavirus: El-Rufai Lying About Being Positive – Nigerian Man (Video)

A Nigerian man is of the opinion that Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai is lying about his Coronavirus status. The governor last Saturday announced he had tested positive for the virus and has gone into isolation.

In a video that has since gone viral, the Nigerian man said that the governor came out to say he had the virus after hearing the donations the Lagos state government has received since the virus was detected in the state in February this year.

Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, has contracted COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. El-rufai announced his status via a video he uploaded on his social media handles on Saturday.

El-Rufai result makes him the second governor to test positive for the virus in Nigeria, after Bala Mohammed, his Bauchi counterpart.

However, The Kaduna State government has announced the arrest of two Islamic clerics – Malam Aminu Umar Usman and Malam Umar Shangel – for violating the state’s restrictive order against religious gathering of more than 10 people in the state.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai had banned religious and social gatherings of more than 10 people in the state to curtail the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

El-Rufai, who announced the arrest of the clerics in a tweet on Saturday night, said they would be prosecuted for violating the directive.

Governor El-Rufai had approved the restrictive order to help control the spread of the virus in the state.

An earlier statement issued by his media adviser, Muyiwa, Adekeye, had said: “Imams are advised not to hold Juma’at services today. In this regard, the government is taking cue from the decision of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the cradle of Islam not to hold such prayers in the two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madina.
